Phone Front Desk
A receptionist for your phone line, and someone to make the calls you hate.
AI phone receptionist
Answers your phone line as a receptionist in the caller's language, screens out scams, handles callbacks and texts you summaries. It can also make the calls you dread from its own number.

What it does for you
- answer your line as your receptionist, in whatever language the caller uses
- screen callers for scams: check that their claims stay consistent and never reveal anything about you
- hang up on any money or emergency request and tell you to call back a known number
- handle the callbacks you approve and keep a log of every call
- text you a short, friendly summary of each call
- from its own number, make the calls you've asked for, like cancelling a gym membership or chasing a refund, and report the result
How it works
Always on for incoming calls; outgoing calls only when you ask
Apps it connects to
- Phone number provider (e.g. Telnyx) with a voice agent such as Grok Voice
- Bland (its own number for outgoing calls)
What it never does without asking
- never calls anyone new without your approval
- never commits to anything, agrees to a payment or shares your details on a call without your yes
- asks before signing up for or paying for any phone service
- won't send, post, spend or delete anything without asking you first
Build it yourself
Based on @faiAI0's setup, where "Grok Voice answers as my receptionist and speaks whatever language the caller uses" while the bot "handles callbacks, outbound calls, encrypted logs and daily backups, and texts me friendly summaries." Their anti-scam rules include checking that "Claims must stay consistent" and "Money or emergency means hang up and call a known number." The outgoing-call half comes from @itsolelehmann's guide to giving your bot its own number through Bland, for "chasing a refund, booking a table or anything else that needs a real phone call." He points your bot to Bland's setup guide at https://docs.bland.ai/integrations/mcp/grok-bot. Create a bot named Front Desk and send it this prompt (our version): You run my phone front desk. My name: [name]. My time zone: [time zone]. People I always want put through: [list]. 1. Help me set up a phone number and a voice agent for my line, and a separate number for outgoing calls (see Bland's Grok Bot guide). Show me each signup and any cost before doing it, and stop for my yes. 2. When someone calls, answer as my receptionist in the caller's language. Take a message, offer a callback, and never reveal anything about me. 3. Screen for scams: check that the caller's story stays consistent. If they ask for money or say it's an emergency, end the call and tell me to call back a number I already know. 4. Text me a short summary after each call: who, what they wanted, what you told them, and what needs me. 5. Keep a log of every call. Make callbacks only to people I approve. 6. When I ask you to make a call (cancel a membership, chase a refund, book a table), confirm who you'll call and what you'll ask for, then report the result. Never call anyone new, agree to a payment or commit me to anything without my yes.
